Overview
RJB joined PetSmart's 2025 Store Refresh initiative, renovating stores nationwide on an overnight schedule. The work hit high-traffic areas that had to stay open for business, so each store was refreshed in a five-night turnaround with minimal disruption.
How we delivered
Each store moved through the same scope. RJB demoed and rebuilt the fish-system zones, including electrical, plumbing, wall panels, and new VCT or Portico flooring. Crews replaced check stands in 76 stores, handling the electrical disconnect and reconnect, register endcap builds, tile spot-repair, and floor waxing. Restroom upgrades varied by location and covered partitions, toilets, sinks, mirrors, FRP, paint, floor polish, and wall repair. In select stores, RJB also added reverse-osmosis water filtration and new millwork in the associate lounge, along with lighting upgrades, decor, and equipment relocation.
RJB kept crews consistent across each route to cut ramp-up time and hold quality from store to store. The team worked to strict overnight windows and reported daily, with photo validation through PetSmart's digital system.
The outcome
RJB mobilized certified crews and coordinated the work across multiple regions, delivering each store within its overnight window. Stores stayed open for business throughout, with each refresh finished before the store reopened.
